We know intuitively that diversity matters and we know the meaning of Diversity for the business success for companies. Again this has been desribed by a research from McKinsey, the company that has also published the "women matter" reports. In the study "Diversity matters" it has been found "that companies in the top quartile for gender or racial and ethnic diversity are more likely to have financial returns above their national industry medians." The likelihood being better than other companies is about 30% for companies being in the top quartile for gender or racial equality. This suggests that other dimensions of Diversity e.g. age, sexual orientation and experiences are also likely to bring a competitive advantage for companies.
Hence Diversity & Inclusion is described as an differentiator within competition and that market share shift to more diverse companies over time.
