More and more far-sighted decision makers are aware that diversity management is a tool that equips businesses for the future. They have every right to feel validated by the new 2008 Employers Prize for Education, a prize specifically for effective diversity management plans. The awards will be made at the German Employers Day event in Berlin on 4 November.
The competition, which is already under way, runs under the motto "Future = Education x MINT²"- evoking Einstein's E = mc². Using this formula is a way for the prize to show that it is part of the MINT initiatives on behalf of the German economy, which aim to promote and foster the new generation in the areas of Mathematics, Informatics, the Natural sciences and Technology, hence the acronym MINT.
There are prizes for the four categories of early childhood education, school, tertiary and vocational/workplace education, and a special prize for the best diversity management plan within the MINT promotion. This special prize is awarded to one of the applicants in the other four categories.
